New video by E-40 has me reconsidering the women that I invite to my house parties(and the house I throw them in). “Red Cup” will appear on E-40′s upcoming album, which will be released on December 9.
On September 12th & 13th, Charlotte, North Carolina was host to the 20th anniversary of the Funk Fest music series: a celebration and appreciation for “the rich cultural heritage of ‘old school’ music” – Funk Fest Site. This year was significant not only because it marked the 20th anniversary of the traveling festival, but it also marked the first year the organization responsible, Lifting As We Climb, Inc. (LAWC) operated as a non-profit corporation. In hopes to spread the awareness and gain support for the mission of helping disadvantaged and homeless youth, the organization hosted the festival with an unbelievable line up and Charlotte’s own BNR Weekly with host Neiko Debarge were front and center to capture all the amazing performances. Video coverage of Salt N Pepa, Outkast, Doug E. Fresh, Ice Cube, Fantasia, and B.O.B. was more than enough to make me EXTREMELY jealous. I’m glad I know about the concert series now because I won’t be missing it next year. Major shout out to BNR weekly for the coverage. Enjoy.
